When you pool Virgin Points through a Household account, every flight adds to your shared balance. For example, when a family of four travels from Mumbai to London, each earning 2,000 poin from their flight. In few frequent flyer programs, these points would sit in separate accounts, far from any meaningful reward. However, with pooling them, they immediately have 8,000 shared points – enough for a reward flight starting at 6,000 points under Virgin’s dynamic pricing system. This is very useful for a family with kids. While the kids wont be able to use the points, you as a parent can use it for your next trip.

Setting Up Your Pooled Account

  1. The account can include up to 9 members.
  2. Everyone must share the same physical address. Think of it as a real household
  3. The account operates under a designated leader who manages the pooled points and can make bookings for anyone.
  4. This leader also handles important administrative tasks like address changes and membership management.
  5. If the leader modifies address it reflects in all family members accounts
  6. Individual tier points and benefits remain separate from the pool
  7. All members can view each other’s Flying Club numbers, contribution, name, etc.
  8. Members must commit to staying in the household for at least 12 months
  9. A member can not be a part of another household.

Can you leave a household?

Yes. If someone needs to leave the household before the 12-month minimum period, they’ll need to contact Virgin Atlantic directly. After the initial 12 months, members can leave at any time, keeping their individual tier points and status. Any future points earned will go to their personal account, while the existing pooled balance remains with the household.

How to redeem Virgin Atlantic Points

Virgin Atlantic follows a dynamic redemption program for their own flights, meaning if you want to fly to London from Mumbai, you may need points between 6k-30k depending upon the demand and supply. However they have fixed point system for some of their partners like

  3. Vietnam Airlines
